Crosscutting Councils

Hydrogen renewable energy production

Each council focuses on a specific area(s) of the Commercial Adoption Readiness Assessment Tool (CARAT). These councils will evaluate barriers that are technology agnostic, and focus on how help the entire hydrogen ecosystem.

Technology Council

This council focuses on:

  • the readiness of the technology and pertains to those technology and manufacturing readiness levels for technologies within a given sector.

  • the most prominent technological and permitting challenges that are similar for multiple sectors.

Market Council

This council focuses on:
•    the key adoption issues around market in terms of size, finance, timing, etc.
•    those who understand the business of hydrogen and will include finance and investors

Resource Council

This council focuses on:
•    the interconnectivity of a given sector and WG with others, especially in terms of limited supply-chain logistics
•    those who understand the deployment of technologies including procurement and engineering firms and personnel
•    supply-chain barriers, manufacturing readiness levels, and other externalities within a given sector.

Safety Council

This council focuses on:
•    the crosscutting safety issues that are critical across the hydrogen value chain and includes related environmental concerns such as hydrogen leakage
•    Addressing the rising hydrogen safety needs, ranging from developing additional hydrogen safety codes and standards, creating safety protocols, guidance, and best practices, to training the hydrogen workforce of the future

Community Council

This council focuses on:
•    four main pillars: community engagement, Justice 40, workforce development with good jobs, and DEIA efforts.
